Wamego, Kansas In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22, 2025, at approximately 12:35 a.m., the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a female had been run over by a vehicle in the 20000 block of Pauling Run Road, in rural Wamego, Pottawatomie County, Kansas.
Deputies responded immediately and located the victim, identified as Kara Murray, 52, of Wamego, who had sustained serious injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene, and due to the severity of her injuries, Murray was flown by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital where she remains under treatment.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies determined that the suspect, identified as Dana Blume, 43, of Onaga, had intentionally run over the victim following a verbal altercation between the two women. Blume was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Dana Blume has been booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail and is currently being held on a charge of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree. Bond has not yet been set.
