BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — A quiet Tuesday night in Bolingbrook was shattered by gunfire that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy in what authorities are describing as a tragic and senseless act of violence.
Just before 11 p.m. on April 15, officers with the Bolingbrook Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Grove Court. Upon arrival, they discovered Daniel Starks, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound. Starks, who lived at the address where the incident occurred, was rushed to a nearby hospital by emergency medical personnel.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Starks was pronounced dead at approximately 11:45 p.m.
As of Wednesday morning, no suspects are in custody, and police have not released details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities are actively working the case and say they are seeking help from the public to gather any information that might lead to answers.
Investigators are urging residents in the area to review any home security footage, doorbell cameras, or audio recordings from around the time of the incident. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual late Tuesday night is asked to contact the Bolingbrook Police Department immediately.
