Further details released in Tuesday crash that killed Pine Bluff resident on I-530 near Woodson

WOODSON, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police have released further information regarding a deadly crash that occurred Tuesday on Interstate 530 near Woodson, claiming the life of a Pine Bluff resident and leaving three others injured.

According to officials, the collision took place when a passenger vehicle was reportedly forced off the roadway by an 18-wheeler, which continued driving without stopping. The victim, whose identity has not yet been made public pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One occupant of the vehicle remains hospitalized with serious injuries, while two others have been treated and released, authorities confirmed.

Witnesses told investigators that the semi-truck may have merged abruptly or veered into the passenger vehicle’s lane, leading to the off-road crash. Law enforcement is actively seeking the driver of the unidentified 18-wheeler, and have urged anyone with dashcam footage or additional information to come forward.

The crash has left the Pine Bluff community in mourning. Local officials and residents have expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and well wishes to the survivors.
