Hospital employee Robert Paljusevic named as gunman in Thursday shooting at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – A hospital employee was shot Thursday morning in the parking garage of Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, leading to a temporary lockdown of the facility and nearby schools, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. on March 20 at the hospital on Dequindre Road. According to Troy Police, the suspect, identified as Robert Paljusevic, allegedly fired five shots, striking the victim twice.

The victim, a 25-year-old male from Troy, was immediately rushed to the hospital’s emergency room, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Officials have confirmed that he is expected to survive.

Targeted Attack Leads to Lockdown

Police revealed that both the suspect and the victim were employees of the hospital, and the shooting appears to have been a targeted act.

Following the incident, the hospital was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, and nearby schools and daycare centers were also temporarily placed under soft lockdown until the suspect was apprehended.
