A tragic crash on Wednesday morning claimed the life of a teenager and left two others seriously injured, shutting down a major roadway in Lee County. “Jaciey was beautiful, caring, loving, and the light of any life she touched,” wrote Stacia Conyne, the organizer of a GoFundMe campaign set up to support Hogan’s family. Conyne noted that Hogan was raised by her mother, Trisha Johnson, a single parent who worked on Fort Myers Beach.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Hogan was a passenger in a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Fort Myers man when the car ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in Hogan’s death and critical injuries to the two other individuals involved.
South Fort Myers High School, where Hogan was a student, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. In an email to parents, Principal Angel Gomez acknowledged the devastating news.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news that one of our students passed away this morning on the way to school,” Gomez wrote. “We know that some of you may have already heard about this tragic incident, and our hearts go out to all affected.”
