Though he faced challenging times in his life that affected his health, Michael never stopped being a pillar of strength to his family and a comforting presence to his friends. His ability to bring laughter into difficult moments and his deep care for others defined who he was.
Michael is survived by his devoted mother, MaryJane Garcia, and stepfather, Jorge Guerra, who stood by him with love and support. He also leaves behind his siblings — Janet, Alicia, and Eric Hastings — as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him.
Those who knew Michael remember his bright smile, quick wit, and the warmth he carried with him. Whether it was a phone call to check in, a funny story at a family gathering, or a simple act of kindness, Michael’s presence made a difference. He loved music, good conversation, and being surrounded by family.
In this time of sorrow, the Hastings and Garcia families are asking for the community’s support to help cover funeral expenses as they prepare to lay Michael to rest with the dignity and peace he deserves.
Michael’s passing is a reminder of how fleeting life can be, and how deeply one person can touch the lives of many. He will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
Donations, tributes, and words of comfort are deeply appreciated as the family navigates this immense loss.
Rest in peace, Michael. Your light remains in every heart you touched.
