TYBEE ISLAND, GA — The City of Tybee Island is mourning the tragic loss of Jamie Spear, the city’s respected Human Resources Director, who died as a result of a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 80 Saturday evening.
The accident occurred around 5:40 p.m. on June 7, 2025, prompting an emergency response from the Chatham County Fire Department and multiple other agencies. The crash, described as a multi-vehicle rollover, resulted in six individuals being transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, Spear succumbed to her injuries sustained in the collision.
