HENRICO COUNTY, VA — Authorities have released the identity of the woman killed in a devastating single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Short Pump.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Jasmine Senae Woody, a Henrico resident, who tragically lost her life when the Hyundai Elantra she was driving ran off Kain Road near Willane Road and struck multiple objects before coming to rest in a creek bed.
The crash occurred around 11:55 a.m. on Sept. 16. Henrico Police and members of the Henrico County Division of Fire responded quickly to the scene, where they discovered Woody’s vehicle in a ditch beneath a small bridge. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed she was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to investigators, Woody had been traveling westbound on Kain Road when her car veered off the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and the concrete pillar of a bridge before plunging into the creek bed. The force of the collision caused catastrophic damage to the vehicle.
While the official cause of the crash remains under investigation, police have stated that speed is believed to have been a contributing factor. No other vehicles were involved.
