GLENVIEW, IL – The Glenview community and Glenbrook South High School are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Joshua “Josh” Terrill, a bright and beloved student-athlete who passed away suddenly.
Josh was a standout member of the school’s track and field team, known not only for his athleticism, but also for his warm heart, quiet determination, and deep sense of integrity.
Josh was a junior at Glenbrook South High School, where he had earned the respect and admiration of his classmates, coaches, and teachers. Whether sprinting down the track, supporting his teammates, or working hard in the classroom, Josh was known for his tenacity, kindness, and unshakable work ethic. A gifted runner with dreams of competing at the collegiate level, he poured himself into his training and often stayed after practice to help others or refine his technique.
Outside of athletics, Josh was a curious learner with a passion for science and technology. He had a quiet yet deeply inquisitive mind, and he often impressed his teachers with his thoughtful questions and independent spirit. His friends remember him as someone who was always there — not always the loudest in the room, but always the most dependable. His humility and compassion set him apart.
Josh’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him — in every race run, in every act of quiet kindness, and in every moment of perseverance. He will be remembered for the life he lived: full of promise, courage, and love.
