Kentucky State Police Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide in Lincoln County
Crab Orchard, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating a tragic murder-suicide that left two people dead and one critically injured in Lincoln County late Thursday night.
According to authorities, officers responded to a shooting at a residence on Main Street in Crab Orchard at approximately 11:45 p.m. on February 29, 2025.
Details of the Incident
A preliminary investigation by KSP indicates that 30-year-old Spencer Baldwin fatally shot 40-year-old Dennis Perry and 30-year-old Heather Baldwin before turning the weapon on himself.
- Dennis Perry sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment.
- Heather Baldwin was taken to Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead by the Lincoln County Coroner.
- Spencer Baldwin was found deceased at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
The bodies of the victims have been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsies. Kentucky State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
