The Philadelphia hockey community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 16-year-old Kozyrev Artem, a former player with the Philadelphia Blazers Youth Ice Hockey program, who tragically died in a recent car accident. His sudden and unexpected passing has left teammates, coaches, friends, and family devastated, struggling to comprehend the loss of a young life filled with promise, potential, and a future that was just beginning.
Remembering Artem
During his time with the Blazers, Artem became known not only for his skill on the ice, but for the person he was off of it. Loved ones say Artem possessed the kind of light and genuine character rarely found at such a young age. He was admired for his determination, his competitive drive, and the relentless passion he brought to every game and practice.
Coaches recall his leadership, his drive to improve, and the way he uplifted teammates through encouragement, humor, and loyalty. Friends describe him as someone whose positivity was contagious — a young man who could walk into a locker room or step onto the ice and instantly shift the energy around him for the better.

Artem’s impact extended far beyond the rink.
