AZLE, TEXAS — The Southwestern University community and the city of Azle are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kylie Marie Intfen, a beloved student, athlete, and friend who passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 20. A Political Science major at Southwestern and standout member of the Pirates volleyball team, Kylie was remembered not just for her talent on the court, but for the radiant spirit and kindness she brought to every room she entered.
Born on March 10, 2005, in Fort Worth, Texas, Kylie was the cherished daughter of Eric and Crystal Intfen, and the beloved sister of Will Intfen. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Barbara Intfen, and Ken McCullough, who, her family says, “now welcome her into eternal peace.”
Kylie was a young woman of vibrant energy, faith, and fierce determination. Her bright smile, joyful laugh, and compassionate soul left a lasting impact on everyone she met—from teammates and classmates to professors and lifelong friends.

At Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, Kylie was pursuing her degree in Political Science with a sense of purpose and conviction. Her professors described her as intellectually curious, driven, and thoughtful—never one to back away from a challenge or meaningful conversation.
But it was on the volleyball court where many came to know her strength and resilience. A powerful athlete with a deep love for the game, Kylie gave her all to her team—the Southwestern Pirates—and built enduring bonds through every serve, spike, and huddle.
“She was more than a talented volleyball player,” a university statement reads. “She was a loyal friend, a loved teammate, and a cherished daughter. Her passion, kindness, and radiant spirit lit up every room she stepped into.”

Kylie’s life was grounded in her unwavering Christian faith. She found deep joy and community through Bible study with friends, often leading with quiet strength, wisdom beyond her years, and a listening heart. Her faith was the compass that guided her life—evident in her words, her relationships, and the way she lifted others up.
Whether cheering for her beloved Kansas City Chiefs on game day, traveling to new places, or dancing at concerts and music festivals, Kylie embraced every moment with a sense of wonder and gratitude.
