His resolve was further solidified in 2015 following the tragic death of William L. Chapman II in Portsmouth, Virginia. Motivated by a desire to create meaningful change, Marquise joined the NAACP and worked tirelessly to advance justice and equality for all.
As a member of the National Youth Work Committee of the NAACP, Marquise played a pivotal role in shaping policies that addressed the unique challenges faced by young people. His commitment extended to dismantling systemic barriers that affected Black and Brown communities, leaving an indelible mark across grassroots organizations, political spheres, and civil rights movements.
