QUEENSBURY, NY — Family, friends, and the Ballston Spa community are mourning the loss of 48-year-old Matthew Tenace, who tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening, June 18, 2025, in Queensbury.
According to New York State Police, troopers responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on the southbound side of Interstate 87 at approximately 9:38 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that the motorcycle, operated by Tenace, had exited the roadway for unknown reasons.
Tenace sustained severe injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A well-known and well-loved figure in Ballston Spa, Tenace is being remembered by those who knew him as kind-hearted, adventurous, and deeply devoted to his family and friends. Tributes poured in on social media Thursday morning, with loved ones describing him as “one of the good ones” and “someone who lived life to the fullest.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details.
As the community comes to terms with the sudden loss, loved ones are rallying together to honor Tenace’s memory and support his grieving family. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days.
