Joliet Township, Illinois — Family and friends are mourning the loss of 23-year-old Melissa Inchaurriga, a Crest Hill resident who tragically died following a car accident early Sunday morning in Joliet Township.
According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, Inchaurriga was pronounced dead at 6:14 a.m. on June 15, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. She was identified as the driver of a vehicle involved in a crash near the intersection of Route 30 and Hillcrest Road.
An autopsy was performed the same day, though the final cause and manner of death are still pending further analysis, including toxicology results and findings from the ongoing investigation led by the Illinois State Police.
Melissa’s sudden passing has deeply affected the Crest Hill community, where she was known and loved by many. Friends have described her as vibrant, kind-hearted, and full of promise.
