COMPTON, CA — Homicide investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have identified the suspect wanted in connection with the brutal killings of La’von Hall and her young daughter, Ma’Laysia Martin, in Compton. The suspect has been named as Donte Lamont Brown, 41, of Compton — the estranged boyfriend of La’von Hall.
Brown is now the subject of an intense manhunt, and investigators are urging the public to assist in locating him. According to authorities, Brown is considered armed and dangerous, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
Detectives have pursued all investigative leads to date but have yet to apprehend Brown. He is known to frequent areas in both Compton and Long Beach, and residents in those communities are asked to remain vigilant.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department emphasized that the case remains open and active, and further details are being withheld to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
“This is a deeply tragic and disturbing case,” said one investigator familiar with the matter. “We are doing everything in our power to bring justice to La’von and Ma’Laysia, and we need the public’s help to locate Mr. Brown before anyone else is harmed.”
