Musab Ibrahim Kosar Obituary Death News: Speeding Tesla Driver Linked to Fatal I-94 Crash in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, MN — A devastating crash early Tuesday morning, November 12, 2025, on Interstate 94 in St. Paul has left one man dead and two others injured after authorities say a speeding Tesla caused a violent collision at the Dale Street exit.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the Tesla, 22-year-old Musab Ibrahim Kosar of Fridley, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he exited the freeway and struck an SUV crossing the intersection. The driver of the SUV, 31-year-old Benjamin Michael Villano of St. Paul, sustained critical injuries in the impact and was transported to Regions Hospital, where he later died despite lifesaving efforts.

Kosar and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, were also taken to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that all three individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators have not yet determined whether alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving played a role.

Witnesses described the harrowing scene as chaos unfolded in the moments following the collision. “It sounded like an explosion — then there were lights and sirens everywhere,” said one local resident. “You could tell it was bad right away.”

The impact scattered debris across the roadway and forced authorities to temporarily close the Dale Street exit as members of the State Patrol’s crash reconstruction team examined the site. Troopers spent several hours collecting evidence, measuring skid marks, and reviewing surveillance footage to determine what led up to the crash.

Officials say the collision underscores the deadly consequences of excessive speed on Minnesota highways. “Speeding remains one of the most common factors in fatal crashes statewide,” a State Patrol spokesperson said. “Moments of recklessness can destroy lives and devastate families in an instant.”

The death of Benjamin Villano has deeply shaken the St. Paul community. Friends and family describe him as a warm, hardworking, and compassionate person who always went out of his way to help others. His sudden loss has left loved ones mourning and calling for safer driving on local roads.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash and are urging drivers to slow down, remain vigilant, and remember that speeding not only endangers their own lives but also the lives of everyone sharing the road.
