Nadia Flett-Carriere Murder-Suicide Winnipeg: God’s Lake First Nation member and Winnipeg man identified as parties involved in domestic-related murder-suicide on Sherburn Street

WINNIPEG, MB — April 29, 2025 — Winnipeg police have confirmed a tragic domestic-related murder-suicide that claimed the lives of two people in the city’s West End on Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to a 911 call around 2:08 p.m. on April 28 in the 500 block of Sherburn Street. Officers from the East and West District General Patrol units arrived on scene to find an adult male and an adult female suffering from critical injuries.

Police administered emergency medical care before paramedics arrived and transported both individuals to hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit confirmed the incident was a murder-suicide. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Nadia Flett-Carriere, a member of God’s Lake First Nation who was living in Winnipeg. The male has been identified as a 27-year-old man, also from Winnipeg. His name has not been released by police.

Investigators say there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to public safety.
