The Denver community and members of the U.S. Navy are mourning the sudden death of Builder 3rd Class Natalie Klecker, a proud Seabee whose devotion to service, humanitarian work, and camaraderie left a deep and lasting impact on those around her.

Klecker, who grew up in Denver and later made her home in Merriam, Kansas, served her nation with honor as part of the U.S. Navy’s elite construction force. Her unexpected passing has left family, friends, and fellow service members shocked and grieving as they remember a woman who dedicated her life to lifting others up.
During her military career, Klecker took part in missions that showcased both her technical skill and her compassion. Among her most notable assignments was her participation in Exercise Cobra Gold 2020 in Thailand—one of the largest multinational humanitarian and military exercises in the Indo-Pacific region. There, she worked directly with Royal Thai Navy Engineers, Malaysian Army Engineers, and fellow Seabees to build a three-room schoolhouse, a project that expanded educational opportunities for local children. Colleagues recall her steadfast work ethic and the positivity she brought to every task.
Friends say that Klecker’s kindness went far beyond her uniform. Known for her warm presence, loyalty, and unwavering support for others, she was the type of person who consistently showed up—whether for a mission, a colleague, or a friend in need. Those closest to her remember her infectious laugh, her determination, and her ability to forge strong connections wherever she went.
As loved ones grapple with her sudden loss, many reflect on the legacy she leaves behind: a legacy built on service, generosity, and heart. The Navy community she proudly served, along with those who knew her personally, continue to honor her life and her contributions.
Her family and fellow Seabees have asked the public to keep Natalie’s memory close and to take comfort in knowing she lived with purpose, integrity, and a deep commitment to helping others.
