Noah Snyder and Scott Michaud Milwaukee Car Accident: Further details released in Friday crash that killed Marquette University students and member of the men’s lacrosse team

MILWAUKEE — The Marquette University community is mourning the death of student-athlete Noah Snyder, a member of the men’s lacrosse team, who was killed in a car crash Friday evening. He was 20 years old.

According to Milwaukee police, the collision happened around 5 p.m. on September 5 near 27th Street and St. Paul Avenue. Investigators said the vehicle Snyder was traveling in, along with several other Marquette students, was struck by another car. Snyder and one other student were pronounced dead at the scene. Four others sustained injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 41-year-old man, was taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that charges are pending.

Snyder, originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, had built a reputation as both a standout athlete and a leader among peers. Before joining Marquette, he developed his lacrosse skills at Westtown School under coach Desiderio Gonzalez and at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute with coach Pete Hudecki. Teammates and coaches praised his strong work ethic, competitive drive, and the positive spirit he brought to the team.

Outside of athletics, Snyder was known for his kindness, energy, and dedication to those around him. Friends and classmates described him as someone whose presence could light up a room and whose determination left a lasting impression.

Marquette University officials announced that a Mass honoring Snyder and the other student killed in the crash will be held Saturday, September 6, at 1 p.m. at the Varsity Theatre. The Alumni Memorial Union will also be open from noon to 3 p.m. as a space for community support and reflection.

The university community, along with Snyder’s family and friends, now faces the painful task of grieving the sudden loss of a young man whose future was filled with promise.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
