The Norwell community, along with family and loved ones throughout Massachusetts, is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 38-year-old Cara Mary Schinkowitch (née White), who passed away on October 31, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Cara’s passing has left those who knew her devastated, yet overwhelmingly grateful for the unforgettable impact she made during her time on this earth.

Born on June 22, 1987, in Boston, Massachusetts, Cara grew up surrounded by love, support, and strong family values that shaped the woman she would become. She was the adored daughter of Stephen and Maura White, a devoted sister to Shauna Mackey, and a cherished aunt who took great pride in watching her nieces and nephews grow. Her family shares that Cara lived a life rooted in empathy, strength, warmth, humor, and unwavering compassion — traits that drew people to her effortlessly.
Cara was a devoted wife and partner in every sense to her husband, Casey Schinkowitch. Together they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and family. Their greatest joy came from raising their two daughters, Arabella and Finley, who were the true lights and purpose in Cara’s world. She embraced motherhood with all of her heart — fiercely protective, endlessly loving, and proudly involved in every moment of their lives.
Friends describe Cara as someone who made others feel safe, supported, and understood, often using humor to lift spirits even during her hardest challenges. She loved spending summers at the beach, making memories on ski adventures with loved ones, and unwinding with a well-made Cosmopolitan while enjoying time with friends and family. Her vibrant spirit, bright smile, and ability to find joy amidst adversity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her battle with breast cancer was fought with remarkable courage, grace, and determination. Throughout her journey, Cara remained a symbol of strength — not only for her own family, but for countless others who admired her perseverance. Her family extended heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mass General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for their exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support throughout her illness.
Visitation for Cara will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 551 Washington Street, Route 53 in Hanover, Massachusetts.
Cara’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, family, friends, and in every life she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
