HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y. — A fatal hit-and-run collision in the early hours of Thursday morning has claimed the life of 40-year-old Sara Burack, a prominent Southampton real estate broker and former cast member of Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House. Police are now urgently seeking the driver responsible for the crash.
Southampton Town Police say they received a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. reporting a woman lying unresponsive in the roadway near Villa Paul Restaurant on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Responding officers found Burack unconscious and suffering from serious injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
She was transported by the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed Burack’s identity Thursday afternoon. Well-known in the luxury real estate community, Burack was previously affiliated with Nest Seekers International and was widely recognized for her charisma, professionalism, and deep ties to the Hamptons area. Her appearance on Million Dollar Beach House further raised her profile among fans of high-end property and reality television.
The Southampton Town Police Department, in conjunction with the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, is actively investigating the circumstances of the hit-and-run. As of Thursday evening, no description of the vehicle or potential suspects has been released.
