The town of Dighton, Massachusetts, is grieving the tragic and sudden loss of Savannah Ryan Salemme, who passed away in a car accident on September 19, 2025, at just 18 years old. Though her life was far too short, Savannah will be remembered for the love, laughter, and joy she brought to all who knew her.
A Bright Life Cut Short
Born May 22, 2007, in Weymouth, Savannah spent her childhood in Randolph and Stoughton before her family settled in Dighton. Earlier this year, she proudly graduated with the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School Class of 2025, where she specialized in HVAC. With remarkable determination and maturity, she had already begun to carve a path toward a career in the field. Teachers and classmates admired not only her work ethic but also her positivity, which inspired those around her.
A Spirit Full of Adventure
Savannah had a fearless and adventurous spirit. A passionate music lover, she always had the perfect playlist for every moment. She loved traveling, exploring new places, and never shied away from trying something different. Friends often admired her natural sense of direction and her eagerness to embrace life’s journeys with enthusiasm.
One of Savannah’s greatest joys was sharing adventures with her boyfriend, Shawn Ponte. Whether working on cars and trucks, spending time at the beach, or simply enjoying each other’s company, they created lasting memories together. Savannah also found a sense of belonging in 603 Diesel, a truck meet club where she shared her love for vehicles and the thrill of the track with like-minded friends. Her passion for cars was a central part of her identity, filling her life with confidence and excitement.
A Loving Daughter, Sister, and Friend
Savannah’s nurturing nature shone through in the way she cared for her younger brother, Leo, and her cousin Aubrey, showering them with love, patience, and devotion. She treasured family moments—whether cooking with her parents, gathering for dinners, or celebrating milestones with her extended family. Her smile brightened every room, and her kindness made everyone feel welcome and valued.
Cherished by Many
Savannah leaves behind her loving “Mum” Arianna (Ellis) and “Daddo” Matthew Salemme of Dighton; her siblings Leo Salemme and Charolette Fornaciari; her father Michael Fornaciari of Braintree; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. She is also deeply mourned by her beloved boyfriend Shawn Ponte of Raynham, along with his parents and siblings, and by countless friends, classmates, and community members who were touched by her vibrant spirit.
Savannah’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her most. Though her time here was brief, her impact was immeasurable—a reminder to embrace life with courage, generosity, and love.
