Sonya Davis Car Accident: Family and Friends Mourn the Loss of Opelousas Woman Killed in Fatal St. Landry Parish Crash 

The Opelousas community is grieving following the tragic death of 52-year-old Sonya Davis, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, November 5, in St. Landry Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop I, troopers responded shortly after 7 a.m. to Highway 754 near Jessie Richard Road, where investigators say Davis’ vehicle crossed into the opposite lane for reasons still under active investigation and struck a Ford F-150 head-on. Davis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford F-150 suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Toxicology samples have been collected as part of the ongoing crash investigation, state police confirmed.
