Toledo Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Overnight Shooting at South Toledo Plaza — Two Others Injured as Police Search for Suspect

TOLEDO, OH — The Toledo Police Department is investigating a deadly overnight shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jasmine Queen and left two additional young adults wounded outside a South Toledo business plaza early Sunday morning.

Officers were called just after 3:00 a.m. to the plaza located at 4 South Reynolds Road, near the intersection of Reynolds Road and Hill Avenue, after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire erupting in the parking lot. According to investigators, the shooting followed a party or gathering that had taken place inside The Weekend Restaurant and Lounge before crowds spilled outdoors.

When officers arrived, they located Jasmine Queen suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures both on scene and en route to the hospital, but Jasmine later succumbed to her injuries. Her death has now been officially ruled a homicide.

Two other victims — both believed to be between 19 and 20 years old — were also struck by gunfire and transported to area hospitals. Police say both are expected to survive. Their identities and current medical conditions have not yet been publicly released.

Several vehicles parked throughout the plaza were also struck by bullets, marking the extent of the chaos that unfolded. Detectives worked throughout the morning collecting shell casings, photographing evidence, and interviewing partygoers who were present at the time. Investigators say they are still working to determine what sparked the violence, and whether multiple shooters may have been involved.

Lt. Dan Gerken with Toledo Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions have been officially provided at this time. The department is urging anyone who may have video, saw people fleeing the scene, or who has any information that could help clarify what happened to come forward.

As the investigation continues, friends and loved ones are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Jasmine Queen — a young woman whose life was cut tragically short just as adulthood was beginning.
