Two 17-year-old Holland Hall Middle School students were returning from school acivities when they were killed in Thursday night crash near 91st and Riverside.
Two teenagers lost their lives, and another remains in critical condition following a Tesla accident in south Tulsa. The incident occurred on Thursday around 9:45 p.m. near 91st and Riverside, according to Tulsa Police.
Witnesses reported seeing a Tesla veer off the road just north of 91st before crashing into an embankment at Joe Creek on the east side of Riverside, prompting them to alert authorities.
Using a police helicopter, officers located the heavily damaged vehicle. First responders had to cut the roof off the car to extract the victims. Two 17-year-old girls, both juniors at Holland Hall, were pronounced dead at the scene, while another 17-year-old girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition. It is believed that the teens were likely returning home from a school event.
In response to the tragedy, Holland Hall has canceled all Upper School classes on Friday to allow time for mourning, and chaplains and counselors will be available to support students and staff.
