Alliston, Ontario – The Alliston community and the broader hockey world are grieving the sudden loss of Tyler Gagne, a promising young ice hockey player, following a tragic accident. Gagne, a member of the Essa Minor Hockey Association’s U18 Rep team this season and formerly of TNT, was remembered not only for his talent on the ice but also for his leadership, character, and passion for the sport.

The Essa Minor Hockey Association released a heartfelt tribute, saying, “Our hockey community is heartbroken by the loss of Tyler Gagne… Tyler was more than a talented player. He was a leader, teammate, and friend whose love for the game showed on the ice.” In his honor, players across the organization will wear the number 41 on their helmets throughout the 2025–2026 season—a symbolic gesture reflecting his enduring impact.
