It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tyler Shaule, Executive Director of Forest Cliff Camps, who tragically lost his life in a car accident near London, Ontario, in April 2025. Tyler was 41 years old.

A Life Rooted in Purpose

Tyler’s journey with Forest Cliff Camps began over two decades ago when he first attended as a camper. Captivated by the camp’s mission and community, he returned year after year, evolving from camper to volunteer, counselor, assistant director, and eventually, executive director. His unwavering commitment to the camp’s vision was evident in every role he undertook.

An alumnus of the University of Western Ontario, Tyler earned degrees in Medical Biophysics and Education. He also completed certificates in Outdoor Recreation and Biblical Studies from Summit College. Before returning to Forest Cliff in 2013, Tyler spent eight years as a secondary school teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board, where he was known for his dedication to student development and well-being.

As Executive Director, Tyler was instrumental in shaping Forest Cliff Camps into a nurturing environment where children and youth could explore their faith, build lasting friendships, and experience transformative moments. Tyler met his wife, Janet, at Forest Cliff Camp in 2000—a testament to the profound role the camp played in his life. Together, they built a loving home in London, Ontario, raising three sons: Owen, Theodore, and Elliott. Tyler’s devotion to his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he often spoke of them as his greatest joy and inspiration.

Tyler’s sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy, however, endures in the lives he touched, the programs he developed, and the community he helped foster.
